This is the most exciting sight of the morning -- the breakfast wagon!
Jaunty follows Pam into the pen, and starts munching. The pen is called a "foal creep," and is designed to let the foals eat in peace -- the openings are too small for their mothers to get in and gobble up the grain.
Baby horses learning to eat solid food are much like baby humans at this stage -- they take a few bites, then want to wander off and play.
The chickens wait for their turn (like dogs under a high chair).
Jaunty is learning to stand in the cross-ties while he is groomed.
He has learned to walk across a scary tarp, both with and without Mom.
He has also had his first lessons in ponying (being led by someone on horseback).
He even decided to give Greetings a lead over a couple of little jumps.
But don't worry -- Jaunty has plenty of playtime. He and his pal Charley, born 2 days apart, romp together and groom each other.
